One of the liveliest
and most cosmopolitan destinations in Europe. With arts, culture,
sports and attractions as well as fantastic shopping, restaurants
and nightlife, Scotland’s largest city is always alive.
Known as Scotland’s style capital it’s easy to see why Glasgow
is the UK’s favourite shopping city outside London. Designer
names such as Emporio Armani, Hugo Boss and Diesel are in evidence
alongside all the top high street names. For those wishing to
explore and absorb the culture, Glasgow offers some of the best
free museums and art galleries in Scotland. The popular Kelvingrove
Art Gallery and the Gallery of Modern Art are not to be
missed.
Our 4-star Glasgow Hostel is the perfect place to stay, and is
very popular with families, groups and independent travellers. It’s
situated in the historic west end of Glasgow and offers great value
accommodation with en-suite bedrooms.

Visitors from around the
world flock here: with stunning Victorian and Georgian
architecture, magnificent views and a spectacular setting, it’s
easy to see why Edinburgh is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is
the perfect place to start or end a visit to Scotland, but there is
so much to do that you could easily fill a week or so without
leaving the city.
Many of the best places to visit in Edinburgh are justifiably
world-famous. Visit the Castle, the Royal Yacht Britannia or
Holyrood palace, which the Queen uses for state occasions when
visiting Scotland. Numerous museums and art galleries cater for the
culture vultures, while the excellent Botanic Gardens and the
outstanding Our Dynamic Earth experience are very popular with
families.
The Edinburgh International Festival runs during August, and is
accompanied by the even more popular Fringe Festival – an amazing
three weeks of the best and most varied programme of entertainment
in the world. Edinburgh fills up very quickly at this time of year,
so make sure you book early!
Edinburgh also boasts some fantastic shopping – everything from
Harvey Nichols and Jenners through to high street stores and funky
designer boutiques. On the Royal Mile there are many unique
independent shops selling everything from Scottish tartans and
cashmere to art and jewellery.

best locations in the heart of the city. Only 5 minutes from
Waverly station, it is stylish, modern and furnished to the highest
standards to suit the needs of single travellers, families and
groups. Bedrooms range from single and twin rooms through to 8
bedded dorms, and all are en-suite. The hostel has a licensed
bistro and restaurant as well as self-catering facilities.
Inverness – the Capital of the
Highlands
Offering the
perfect blend of city and outdoor life. There is plenty to see and
do in the city itself, and it is also a great base for exploring
further afield within the Scottish Highlands. Visit historic sites
such as Culloden Moor or Urquhart Castle, or follow the Whisky
Trail to some of the many whisky distilleries in the area.
You may want to take a boat trip to spot bottlenose dolphins in the
Moray Firth or along Loch Ness to see if you can spot Nessie, the
Loch Ness Monster? For the more adventurous, there are local
opportunites for white water rafting, mountain biking and sea
kayaking.
The atmosphere in the city is friendly and relaxed, and as the
main city for the population of the huge geographical area of the
Highlands, it comfortably mixes charm with an excellent range of
high street shops and designer boutiques.

high street names and a great shopping centre, along with
