Bushcraft is the practice and knowledge that
can help you to experience nature in a more indigenous way. This
course offers a fun introduction to this vast and fascinating
subject. You will gain an insight into the land we use, of wild
food, and an appreciation of nature. It is a great way to learn
about the history of our ancestors and their early way of life.
Bushcraft can encompass a wide range of skills, practices and
ethics and for many, it offers an opportunity to get out and about
and experience a weekend of adventure far removed from their
ordinary lives.

Based around the picturesque banks of Loch
Lomond and led by a qualified bushcraft instructor, the group will
participate in a weekend of exciting bushcraft activities including
fire lighting methods, improvised natural shelter building, water
collection and identification of plants and trees for food.
Accommodation is provided in our charming Rowardennan hostel,
however, for those feeling a bit more adventurous there is an
opportunity to stay overnight in either a man-made shelter or
improvised shelter.
You don’t need to have any previous outdoor
experience but a moderate level of fitness will enable you to enjoy
the experience more. Group numbers are kept small allowing you to
take full advantage of the instructor’s knowledge and
expertise.
